How old do you have to be to book a hotel room in NYC?

Listen up kids... it doesn't matter if you have your parent's permission or how good you think your fake ID is. If you're a minor, you're out of gas. Just like most places in the US, you need to be old enough to buy beer to book the majority of hotel rooms in New York City. That's 21 for you dummies out there. Now, if you're paying attention, I did say majority. The good news, at least for those of you old enough to buy porn or die for your country, is that some hotels, and that's some allow an 18 year old minimum check in age. Many are even in or near Times Square. Keep in mind though, even though you only need to be 18 years old to book the hotel room, you will need a valid photo ID and credit card to do so.  And, yes, the names have to match! You can't use mommy and daddy's credit card! They will verify everything and toss you out on the street without thinking twice. Also fuggetabout cramming a bunch of 16 year olds in one room because one of you are 18 with ID. That won't fly either!
